Workers’ World Media Productions, a media NGO based in Cape Town in partnership with The Raith Foundation, is offering a 11-month internship to a suitably qualified candidate to start on the 1st of February 2023. The candidate will be trained and work as a content producer based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, for WWMP mass media platforms (Radio, TV, Online news and Social Media). Requirements:
- University Journalism qualification at Bachelor’s level
- Politics or Sociology/Anthropology as one of the majors
- Involvement in student and/or community organisation
- Active on social media
- Passion for community media and politics
- Driver’s license
- Bilingual (English and at least one indigenous language – IsiXhosa/ IsiZulu/ Sesotho/ Afrikaans)
The internship includes a generous stipend of R12000 per month and training, along with mentoring on multi-media skills, radio and TV productions as well as online writing and editing.
