For the 100th anniversary of Lenin’s death, Ruth Wilson Gilmore was invited to write an introduction to a republication of a collection of Lenin’s essays titled Imperialism and the National Question. Her introduction argues that Lenin still shows us that ‘revolution is a fundamentally practical programme, even if the steps cannot all be plotted out in advance’.
