The Covid-19 pandemic has severely affected the world’s people. Millions have been infected by the virus and billions of workers’ livelihoods and lives have been negatively impacted upon.
The pandemic has had a severe and disruptive effect on people’s lives including their livelihoods, job-security and social lives. However, according to reports, the social disease of Gender Based Violence with women being the victims of men has increased under Covid-19 conditions. This scourge of GBV is not confined to homes and communities but also finds its way into sectors of the economy, like retail, domestic work and clothing, especially where there are high numbers of female workers.
