Workers On Wednesday 30 October |
It seems like Apartheid and its racist legacy have still not been eradicated from the workplace and the economy. From time to time we learn of extreme, racially motivated acts of violence against black workers as well as various forms of racial discrimination against them. On the other hand, some white workers and their trade unions like Solidarity have expressed concern about discriminatory practices against their members due to affirmative action legislation. After 25 years of democracy, do South African workplaces and the economy still remain untransformed? Is racism ever going to be eradicated? If so, how will it happen?
