Workplace stress is said to be the harmful physical and emotional responses that can happen when there is a conflict between job demands on the employee and the amount of control an employee has over meeting these demands. In today’s workplace, stress is a widespread problem with companies’ constantly pushing for higher productivity in order to be more competitive. Workplace stress affects all sectors of the economy from the lowest level workers to top management. In today’s show we discuss workplace stress as an occupational health and safety issue – its causes, effects and remedies for it.
