Workers on Wednesday has at times over the years focused on the crisis at Eskom and its impact on working class people. Power outages or “load-shedding” by the state electricity generator caused the contraction of the economy in the first quarter of this year and impacted our daily lives. The crisis has led to steep increases in the price of electricity and lately it seems also to be threatening Eskom workers’ job security.
