The labour education institution, Ditsela, recently held a conference in Johannesburg. Present were representatives from trade unions, academic institutions and labour service organisations. Historically, workers’ education has been central to strengthening trade unions but in recent times it seems like it has weakened along with a weakening trade union movement. In today’s show we look at workers’ education, its potential for rebuilding our trade unions and the outcomes of the Ditsela Workers’ Education Conference.
