Dear Consumer,

This Christmas, when you buy your food groceries, please spare a thought for the workers of BM Foods Manufacturers.

They have gone on strike as from Friday, 15th December 2017.

They are presently earning starvation wages of R1,710 per month!! This translates to a meagre R79 per day.

It is a disgrace for workers to be earning poverty wages in the 21st century!!

How can their families survive on R79 per day?!

They are now demanding only R3,000 per month as a minimum wage.

BM Foods supplies all the major retail shops with food products. We are appealing to you not to buy brand products of BM Foods.

Issued by the General Industries Workers Union of South Africa

Update 29 January: The strike at BM Foods has been settled.
